
Stevland Haraway Morris (ne Judkins) was born on the 13th of May, 1950. He is best known as Stevie Wonder and is considered an innovator in music and an influencer for musicians from diverse genres, from rhythm and blues to jazz to gospel, soul, and jazz. Wonder was a solo artist, used synthesizers to create electronic music during the 1970s. It revolutionized the R&B genre. Wonder also helped in the emergence of such genres in the era of albums. The albums of his were cohesive and consistent and socially conscious statements with complex compositions. Blind since shortly after the birth of his son, Wonder was a child prodigy who signed with Motown's Tamla label at 11 years of age at which point he was given the stage name Little Stevie Wonder. Wonder's critical success was at its peak in the 1970s. The band's "classic" period started in 1972 with Music of My Mind and Talking Book. The latter included "Superstition", the most iconic and well-known example of the Hohner Clavinet keyboard sound. His work Innervisions (1973), Fulfillingness the First Finale (1974) as well as Songs in the Key of Life (1976) all earned the Grammy Award for Album of the Year, making him an undisputed record holder for most album of the Year wins, with three. He is the only artist to win the Grammy Award for Album of the Year, with three albums in succession.
