Dennings was involved in a romantic relationship in a relationship with Nick Zano (co-star of "2 Broke Girls") in 2011 through 2014. After the breakup the couple, she then started dating the singer Josh Groban. The two stayed together until 2016. Dennings and Andrew W.K. met in the beginning of 2021. They soon began dating and announced their engagement in the May of 2021. Dennings has been a fan of music from 2014, is Dennings' first crush. Dennings admitted that even though she is Jewish and was raised to become an active member within the Jewish community at a social and ethnic basis, religion does not form a large aspect of her daily life. Her interests include painting, reading, and gardening. The plan was to enroll in art school, but when her entire portfolio got damaged by flooding, her plans dissolved. At the end of the day she decided to interpret this as a sign to pursue acting. She does not drink or smoke, and she enjoys Transcendental Meditation. She also is an animal rights activist and has a pet cat.
